A grey and dreary Wednesday morning in the Big Apple complete with torrential downpour, but on the 16th floor of the Carlisle Collection at 16 east 52nd Street, the sun was shining as Mrs. Libby Fitzgerald stepped off the elevator into the bright and gilted columned quiet of the private retail showrooms of the Carlisle and Per Se women's wear collections.

Atlanta was heating up over the Fall 2010 fashion this past week, and it wasn't just the 100 degree weather. There were women running around in summer attire. There was also another group of women gathered privately for a glimpse of the crisp fall that lies ahead. These women were taking in the "Sister Act!" Carlisle and Per Se fall collections trunk show.
On July 27th, 35 women gathered together to view the Fall Collections unveiled at the Carlisle/Per Se showroom. This wasn't your regular runway -- this time there were two models from the YWCA of Greenwich. Decked out in the latest and greatest must-haves, Diane Davol and Nicole Velaj joined two professional models on the catwalk as Per Se designer Susan Klope discussed the vision behind her latest collection, the intricacies of each outfit and its statement for the season. Up in Greenwich, Carlisle/Per Se held a fashion show of the new fall fashions along with fashion ideas from designer Susan Klope, for the benefit of the YWCA of Greenwich and the Liberation Programs' Families in Recovery Program.

Susan Klope, the designer behind the Per Se Collection has been hard at work and it shows. Klope recently brought her Per Se Spring 2010 collection to life by way of a stylish collaboration with Suzanne Grua-McGrath and Lauren McGrath, the mother/daughter taste making team behind the Good Bones, Great Pieces Interior design and fashion blog.
Susan Klope sold her first design sketches in Toronto by the time she was 13. At 17, her portfolio gained her entree to the Fashion Institute of Technology in NY, despite not having finished high school. Eventually she would go on to work at major design houses, including Bill Blass, Oscar de la Renta and as head designer for Elie Tahari. Today, as lead designer for the Per Se Collection at the Connaught Group, Klope has the opportunity to create smaller, more personalized collections.
This past Saturday we partnered up with clothing line Per Se to showcase some of our favorite trends for spring 2010. Our goal was really to show how a mother and daughter can make the same (or very similar) pieces work, and that those pieces should be ones you will have in your closet for a lifetime. Using a lot of our own accessories and shoes, we personalized the Per Se pieces to make them feel like us. We had so much fun working with designer Susan Klope and the rest of the Per Se/Carlisle team.
